Appointments
They have staff dentists and hygenists travel to village clinics on a rotating basis with portable dental equipment.
Their treatment in the villages is limited to disease prevention, basic restorative care such as fillings and pediatric silver crowns, and simple extractions. School-aged children are their main focus, but adult urgent care is also provided.
Subregional Clinics
The visiting or resident dentists at the subregional clinics can do exams, x-rays, simple cleanings (deep cleanings available soon), fillings, simple extractions, and root canals on front teeth only.
Services are not yet available at Subregional Clinics:
- crowns,
- bridges,
- partial or complete dentures,
- orthodontics (braces),
- root canals on back teeth, and difficult extractions (including many wisdom teeth).
In addition to the kind of treatment provided in villages, services at this clinic include
- x-rays,
- exams,
- cleanings,
- sealants,
- fluoride treatments,
- fillings,
- simple and surgical extractions,
- pediatric crowns,
- adult crowns and bridges,
- partial and complete dentures,
- simple root canal treatments, and minor oral surgeries.
Many of those more complex adult crowns and bridges, partial and complete dentures, molar root canal treatments, and oral surgeries are referred to Anchorage at the patient's own expense.
Native beneficiaries would be required to pay for some services provided which fall outside of the scope of routine preventive, restorative and urgent care.
These costs are to cover the additional expense of special equipment, time and laboratory fees.
These fees for specific treatments can be discussed at your initial exam appointment.
Please contact the dental clinics themselves to confirm that the hours and/or services have not changed.
