Founded in 1866, The Floating Hospital has served as "Family Doctor" to over 5 million New Yorkers in need.
Today, TFH continues its legacy of helping NYC's most vulnerable families by providing comprehensive and compassionate primary care medical, dental and mental health services to homeless women and children living in family shelters and domestic violence safe houses throughout all five boroughs of NYC.
Over half of the patients seen by TFH are uninsured or unable to pay for services.
Without the generous support of caring individuals to supplement these unreimbursed costs, TFH would not be able to provide a health care safety-net for NYC's most fragile families.
Mission Statement: The Floating Hospital provides exceptional, compassionate healthcare to families in need. We provide care regardless of insurance status, immigration status, or ability to pay. We care for our patients as individuals with unique needs and goals. We offer education to help them self-care, now and for the long term.
