Pediatric dental clinic.

Provides

• basic dental
• healthcare services for New Hanover and Brunswick County children

Services Include:

• screening
• cleaning,
• exams,
• x-rays,
• sealants, and basic dental care

Services provided at schools in New Hanover and Brunswick counties:

1. Mobile Unit serves ages 3 - 18 years of age with Medicaid, NC Health Choice or without dental insurance
2. Education
3. Dental Health Division provides dental health education to local children in grades kindergarten through the fifth in order to help them understand the basic skills of good oral health;
4. provides children with information on diet, brushing, flossing, use of fluorides, need for regular dental care, and injury prevention;
5. Oral Health Assessments with Referral are provided by the Dental Health Division for children in grades kindergarten and fifth -
6. determining the oral health treatment needs as well as refering children in need of immediate care;
7. Dental Sealants are thin plastic coatings placed on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, and are a wonderful preventive method because they can prevent a lot of cavities;
8. Dental Health Division works with many local and state groups and organizations in order to promote this wonderful preventive technique
